oh, what marvelous things...or not

A girl I apparently went to elementary school with instant messaged me today to ask if she "could be in my band." I didn't know if she meant the Polydactyls, which has no room for a girl singer and isn't even really my band, or Insanatar, which could use as many people as we can get. However, she doesn't like grindcore, so the idea of her being in a post-grindcore glitchcore band is silly. The whole incident was silly. She has a myspace page that says "band in need of bassist and drummer." As we know, that generally means "random guy who sings and/or plays guitar in need of band." Unless, of course, she already has a viola player and harpsichordist lined up.
Speaking of which, if anyone knows where I can get a cheap Kaoss Pad, MicroKorg, Minimoog, or other crazy analog synth or effects processor, please do let me know. I'm looking to make some noise.

I tried writing fictionally for a while today, but all I managed to do was this fucking blog. It's getting out of hand. Now I have a Bloglines subscription and all the Firefox accoutrements, too (check out the sidebar). If the blogosphere kills me, I want my ashes shot out of a cannon.

Also, today, I drove around listening to some mix CDs I'd made in 11th or 12th grade. That was some crazy nostalgia, let me tell you what. Idlewild, Powderfinger, Blur, all your favorite Britpop. Plus some really great old school Dallas shit: Bee, Captain Audio, Slobberbone, Spill, even early tracks from bands that are still around, like the Deathray Davies and [DARYL]. Why didn't I ever get into the L.A. scene like we used to do back in the high school Deep Ellum days? Boo hoo...

i had a dream about the locust.. I was walking with someone who asked something about them, and there they were at the top of the stairs. We went to talk to them and I thought about mentioning Josh to them, but instead I thought about how jealous he'd be that we met them..
