In the beginning, there was absurdity.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Just like thefacebook. Though I personally know people on thefacebook, and a hell of a lot of them at that. Nobody I know has a blog, but still, I hear that it's the cool thing to do. I enjoy writing, especially writing uselessly, like updating my AIM profile with unnecessary frequency, so perhaps this will be fun irregardless of my hatred of hot new internet phenomena. Don't expect any breaking news, like the Condoleeza Rice-Dubya sex scandal (though his nickname for her is Brown Sugar, my highly placed sources tell me). Expect lots of cynicism and snobbery. Expect the expected, because you can't really expect the unexpected, as the unexpected becomes expected once you expect it. Oh, what fine semantics! Oh, how impassioned my arrogance becomes! Thrilling: self-publishing tools are absolutely, self-indulgently thrilling.
